Hold the hall while the date is free.
If the hall is warm tungsten, dark cloth looks rich. Under cold house LEDs it looks tired. Ask for a lighting plot before you print the invitation.
Tell guests the truth. “Black tie, warm room” saves a hundred wrong jackets.
